Enhanced Patient Access Services

Once registered for Patient Access, patients can already use the internet to book appointments, request repeat prescriptions for any medications they take regularly and notify the Practice of any change of name and/or address etc. With effect from 31 March 2016 patients will also be able to look at a summary of their medical records. Please ask our Reception staff for details.

Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) - A New Way To Get Your Medicines And Appliances

The EPS is an NHS service which will be available at the Practice with effect from 3 November 2015. It will give you the chance to change how your GP sends your prescription to the place you choose to get your medications or appliances from.

If you collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP you will not have to visit the Practice to pick up a paper prescription. Instead we will send it electronically to the place you choose, saving you time.

You will have more choice about where to get your medicines because they can be collected from a pharmacy near where you live, work or shop.

Waiting time at the pharmacy may be reduced because there will be time for your repeat prescription to be ready before you arrive.

Please ask our Reception staff for further details and/or take a look at the posters displayed in surgery.

Out of Hours calls to the Surgery

When calling the surgery outside of our normal working hours you will no longer be redirected to the Out Of Hours Service. Instead you will hear a message that will ask you to hang up and call the NHS 111 Service.

In an emergency you can call 999. Alternatively if you need urgent help but it's not a life-threatening situation you should use the NHS 111 service.

New Service For Patients

You may be aware that Practices are required to provide all patients with a named and accountable GP, who will have overall responsibility for the care and support that our surgery provides for them. This does not prevent you from seeing any GP in the Practice, as you currently do.

As one of our Liverpool Road patients your named GP will be Dr Bird and as one of our Moss Lane patients your named GP will be Dr Kassha.

You do not need to take any action but if you have any questions, or wish to discuss this further, please contact the surgery.

7 Day Extended Access Service

The 7 Day Extended Access Service provides additional GP Surgery appointments over and above those offered by a patient's own Practice. Anyone who is registered with a Sefton or Southport & Formby GP  may book a routine appointment with a GP, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurse, Health Care Assistant or Physiotherapist. These appointments can be made by contacting your own Practice. Clinicians at the service, which will operate from Litherland Town Hall Centre, will be able to access your full medical record. For further details and hours of operation please visit the 7 Day Extended Access Service website.
